LAMPIN’ SZN | Blue and Cream

I’m going to admit, I’ve been inspired by my 11 year old’s summer camp owners blog, to share the B&C high season update with our friends and family…upon the milestone of kids leaving for sleepaway and Hamptons day camps starting up- those of us in the lower to middle school parenting phase are hitting the cycle of summer when our kids are moving on to a new adventure and it really has me looking back on this B&C journey. Yes I started this show over 22 years ago when I was one of the ringleaders of the party and go out demographic of the Hamptons.

Our white parties were of the puff daddy variety not the Michael Rubin, but I will sign an affidavit to assure you there was no freaking off going on. It was an exclusive time and everyone going out knew each other, we would make it from the one big event to the same after party at the club and the after after party at Tavern…. Now 20 years later everyone is all spread out and the kids in the club can not really be described as city kids. The city kids are at house parties, sponsored by the parents, many of whom were the very same that made up the nightlife scene of the late 90s and early 2000s. And during the day, that’s who’s at Blue&Cream, then and now…alas, that was then, this is now.

So as it’s the last day of June 2025 and July is here, first thing to note is the first week of real summer, really felt like summer. People were on the beach, the air was hot but the ocean has been crispy cool, and while a lot of friends are either having their first jobs for summer in the city or winding down their work flow pre July 4, I’ve heard about plans to travel from Greece to Italy, to Aspen and London. While many New Yorkers are kicking off summer en voyage, our seasonal visitors started to load up the decks in the Hamptons, and traffic and the restaurants got an uptick. Gotta say MTK was pretty quiet but I’m waiting for the party it to explode out there in coming days….the lines are still not going crazy at Talkhouse either but Common Ground East moving to the Clubhouse is the closest thing we’ve had to a relevant mega club out here since the days of Southampton nightlife. We also went to our first Palm Tree Festival, courtesy of Zero Bond providing acceptable accommodation, and since it moved from an airport in Westhampton which I have not been to since underage drinking at John Scotts 1993, (just kidding we actually had a Westhampton B&C store for 3 years for those of you who remember the 2010s). Point being, lots more going out to come, we all need a little nightlife in the summa.

Got to admit, Cardvault is a thing to do with the young kids but easthampton village is still dead or just ice cream traffic at nite while everyone’s either going or talking about Sag Harbor. Fitting of course, because we just finished up our 2nd month on the long road to never closing our new home in Sag Harbor and it’s been fun. Our brand of retail is just what’s needed in Sag Harbor village and I want to thank everyone for sending pictures and sharing words of support, checking out our new look. Our team keeps thinking about when and how to stay open later and later as we get into July because the one thing I’ve noticed is the after dinner crowd is hanging tough in town. If you would just throw out your Buddha berry after your finished….maybe we can keep our doors open for SHOPPING- I’m really in no mood for a browsing type flow TBH. We mean business.

For those who have already made it in for their first seasonal haul of the summer, your friends are jealous bc you are flaunting exclusive style that is right on point. Our men’s and women’s programs have never been more revelatory and that is a lot to say for a brand over 20 years young. The music is bumping and I’ve settled in to my 7 day a week position at our Easthampton flagship so come visit soon- before we are sold out, of everything.

Couple quick comments actually fashion related. YES girls are wearing g strings on the beach, yes shorter shorts aka “hot pants” that are literally like men’s underwear briefs are being worn out by the young and sensational. BUT, the chic flowing oversized pant trend, conversely, is also alive and well and if you’ve shopped B&C you’ve tried in or taken home TWP because Trish does it right. We are pairing everything with crochet cami and button ups, and we are featuring the cutest little crochet skirt inspired by one of our favorite young trendsetters as well.

While the pants range from barely existent to “I’m too short can you hem these”, the tops can be anything from cropped to elevated by a Kardashian bodysuits

As always we have incredibly elevated basics and the luxe tees are sharing their money with succulent linen tee and pant sets.

So again, yes, we are having a moment. A great season for every body type and style. Something for everyone – just BE YOU.

For the fellas, if you know you know. We have our hands full already, you may as well make an appt to get your kid styled or get styled for yourself, there is rarely an empty dressing room in our best in class men’s boutique. The B&C men’s team is unrivaled, you just need to walk in to experience the Class A treatment. Some of my favorites are impossibly light men’s pants and there isn’t a man not adding button ups to his wardrobe in new fabrics this season.

That was a lot – and it’s only June 30. Enjoy every minute of the Summer, we are in it together now.
